Zerona costs
Most patients begin with a series of six sessions spread over a two week period. The cost for this set of treatment session usually ranges between $2000 and $3500.
Am I a candidate for Zerona?
Many patients opt for Zerona because they're looking for a non-invasive option that will give them liposuction-like results. Ideal candidates are in good overall health, nonsmokers, and at or near their goal weight. Zerona is most often recommended as a way to reduce stubborn fat deposits, not a fast-track to weight loss. Still, patients can lose up to nine inches from their waist, hips, and thighs following treatment with Zerona lasers.
Most adults are medically able to undergo Zerona treatments. However, those with a pacemaker should not undergo Zerona treatments, as the laser used for this procedure may interfere with that device. Also, although Zerona is a popular method for losing post-baby weight, it should not be used if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or for at least six weeks following childbirth.
What is Zerona?
Zerona is a laser-based procedure used to target fat deposits that do not respond to diet or exercise. With Zerona, the liquified fat is eliminated through the body's natural processes, rather than being surgically removed. Zerona lasers can be used to remove fat and improve the appearance of almost all areas of the body, including:
- Abdomen
- Love handles
- Thighs
- Buttocks
- Arms
- Face, chin, and neck
Zerona steps
During Zerona procedures, the targeted area of the body is subjected to beams of laser light. Before this occurs, the skin will be coated in protective gel that allows the energy to pass through the skin and into the fat. Local or topical anesthetic may be used; however, because Zerona is a cool laser treatment, you should not feel any discomfort or pain while the laser energy is targeted at your skin.
The laser is applied to the targeted area for twenty minutes. The patient then turns over so that the same laser energy can be directed into the opposite side of the body, again for 20 minutes. This energy is absorbed by the fat cells, causing them to liquify by breaking down the cell membranes to release the fat into the body. Because Zerona lasers are able to precisely target fat cells, they avoid damage to the surrounding tissues
Zerona Recovery and Healing Steps
Patients are advised to increase their water intake following the procedure so that the body is able to efficiently dispose of the liquified fat. In addition, during the two-week period of treatment sessions, it is advised that you avoid alcohol and caffeine, which can interfere with the lymphatic system that will remove the fat from your body.
Zerona is known as a "cool laser," which means that it will not cause burns or blisters on the skin. Because no incisions are needed, Zerona does not require sutures or bandages. Following the treatment session, patients may leave the office immediately and continue with their daily activities, including exercise. The results of Zerona will become apparent about a week following the last treatment session.
Zerona Side Effects and Procedure Risks
Common side effects include redness, swelling, or tenderness in the treated area. This non-invasive procedure is generally very safe, with no risk of complications.
